Janice E. (Riley) Conroy

Janice E. (Riley) Conroy, 90, formerly of Hope, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, October 22, 2024 at Avalon Nursing Home, Warwick.

She was the loving wife of the late Edmund P. Conroy, Jr., they had been married for fifty one years before his passing in 2021. Born in Scituate, she was the daughter of the late John G. and Gladys M. (Patnode) Riley.  She resided in Hope for over eighty-five years.

Mrs. Conroy worked as an administrative assistant for Victor Electric for 12 1/2 years and for Foster Parents International for 21 1/2 years before retiring. She was a 1951 graduate of West Warwick High School.

She is survived by two nieces, Wendy M. Riley and Kerri E. Riley and her husband Mark T. Rafferty; two brothers-in-law, Robert Conroy and his wife Norma and Raymond Conroy and his wife Mary; two great nephews, Scott A. Riley, Jr. and his wife Nicole Whittaker and Craig F. Riley and his wife Shanna; two great great nieces, Alayna and Addison Riley and two great great nephews, Aidan and Aaryn Riley. Also survived by three great nephews and three great nieces on the Conroy side. She was the sister of the late Norman and Lester Riley and aunt of the late Scott A. Riley.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 p.m.  Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
