Irene Antoinette (Bykowy) Wilde

WILDE, Irene A. (Bykowy), age 96, died peacefully at Kent County Hospital on February 6, 2021, with her daughter by her side. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Leslie Wilde, who passed away in 1994.  She was born on the family farm in West Warwick and was the daughter of the late Jon and Nellie Bykowy.  She lived in West Warwick her entire life, but enjoyed travelling to Hawaii, Puerto Rico and vacationed in New Hampshire often. 

She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Miller, who passed away in 2013.  She is survived by her daughter Patricia Stroker and her husband Jay of Texas.  She was the grandmother to Zachary Stroker, Phoebe Stroker, Tarra Stroker Caldwell, Jon Miller, Trevor Stroker, Neisha Stroker, Graeme Stroker and Eric Miller.  She was great grandmother to Luciana Stroker, Charlie Stroker, Samuel Miller, Audrie Stroker, Audrey Miller and Emmaline Miller. 

She was well known for her generous heart, kind spirit and beautiful smile.  She had an amazing outlook on life.  She served our country as a riveter during World War II and was the office manager at Falvey Linen Supply for many years before retiring.  She loved to knit and crochet and made many beautiful sweaters for family and friends.  She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox on TV.  She was an avid gardener and she enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens.

Due to the pandemic, services will be private.  A “Celebration of Life” will be planned for this spring.  In lieu of flowers, contributions made to the Salvation Army 440 West Nyack Rd., Nyack, NY 10994-1739, in her memory will be appreciated.
