Irene C. (Lubera) Walsh, 97, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Friday afternoon, October 11, 2024 at home.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mark Walsh, they were married for twenty-two years before his passing in 2017. Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Strycharcz) Lubera.
Mrs. Walsh was a waitress at the former Quonset Point Naval Air Station in North Kingstown for many years before retiring as a supervisor in 1973.
She is survived by a son, Michael Woodruff of North Kingstown; a granddaughter, Catharine Weidemann, with whom she lived; three great grandchildren; a sister, Anne Paquette of Trumbull, CT, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Jennie Petcavage, Sophie Siwy, Theodore, Joseph, Walter, Stanley, John and Mike “Mickey” Lubera.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Inurnment will follow in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
