Gloria R. (Silva) Lafond

Gloria R. (Silva) Lafond, 100, of West Warwick, peacefully passed away on Sunday evening, December 22, 2024, at West View Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in West Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Furtado, Sr. and George Lafond. Born and raised in West Warwick, Gloria was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Rego) Silva and a lifelong resident of the community.

Gloria dedicated many years of her life working at Almac’s before retiring. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, creating cherished memories with those she loved.

She is survived by her three children: Nadine Podgurski, Edward Furtado, Jr., and Paula Parlatti; her two siblings: Eileen Godin and Thomas Silva, Sr.; her four grandchildren: Amy Muschiano, Marissa Molnar, Adam Molnar, and Amanda Pietroforte; and her eight great-grandchildren. Gloria was predeceased by eleven siblings, leaving behind a rich legacy of love and family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gloria's memory to St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893, would be appreciated. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
