Gertrude A. (Brunelle) Loranger

Gertrude A. Loranger (Brunelle), born on October 29, 1934, formerly of Warwick, Rhode Island, died peacefully on November 15, 2022, at Baldwin Health Center, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

She was the daughter of the late Marie Ora (Trembley) and Rene Brunelle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Loranger Sr., her son, John Loranger, and brother, Rene Brunelle, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Robert Loranger, Jr. (Laura), Catherine Flynn (Paul) and Sandra Andrade; a daughter-in-law, Gina Loranger and a sister, Jeanne Chappel.  She is also survived by six grandsons, Robert III, Matthew, Stephen, Brendan, Cameron (Melissa) and Austin (Som); three granddaughters, Kathryn (Keirnan) Christina and Maia and a great-granddaughter, Iliana.  She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Gertrude was employed in the jewelry industry for many years and was proud of attaining her Real Estate License before retiring.  She attended St. John’s School in West Warwick and was active in the parish attending functions and bingo nights in the church hall.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved her cats.  She enjoyed taking day trips to Foxwoods, reading, crochet and crossword puzzles, and will be remembered for her great sense of humor with a quick wit.  She was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed watching the games with her husband.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in SS. John and James Church, 20 Washington Street, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Rhode Island SPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915 in her memory would be appreciated.
