PICARD, JR., George E., 92, a lifelong resident of West Warwick, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, May 9, 2021 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.
He was the beloved husband of the late Muriel I. (Barrette) Picard, they had been married for 66 years at her passing. He was the son of the late George E. and Loria F. (Thuotte) Picard.
Mr. Picard was the proprietor of Picard Plastering Company for over seventy five years and an original entertainer of the music band “The Entertainers” for over twenty five years playing the drums and singing. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a communicant of Christ the King Church, loved playing golf and enjoyed puzzle making. He was loved by everyone and never afraid of sharing his faith.
He is survived by two daughters, Margie Hasley and her husband Scott of Woodbridge, VA and Susan DeLisi and her husband Leo, Jr. of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Lauren Szuman, Zachary Hasley and Matthew DeLisi; a great grandson, Landon Szuman and a brother, Joseph “Norman” Picard. He was the brother of the late Therese Blais.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 9:00-10:00 am in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Ave., West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick.
