Gary W. Porter, 73, of Warwick, passed away Saturday morning, October 5, 2024 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Carani, they had been married for thirty years. Born in Rapid City, South Dakota, a son of the late Edwin and Willow M. (Smith) Porter.
Gary was employed as a machinist with Sandberg Enterprises for many years before retiring. He served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era.
Besides his wife he leaves two sisters, Johanna Dauphinais (Leo) and Kathy Porter both of West Warwick; three brothers, Larry Porter (Deb) of West Warwick, James Porter (Kathy) in Texas and Joseph Porter of West Warwick. He was the brother of the late Michael Porter and Allen Porter.
His funeral service will be held at a time to be announced. Interment with military honors will be in Oakland Cemetery, Maple Street, Coventry. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Information and condolences, please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
