Obituary

Frank Joseph Magiera, 93, passed away on May 7, 2021.

He was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Bouchard) Magiera who passed away in 1999.  Frank was born on October 26, 1927 in West Warwick, RI. He was the son of the late Frank and Anna (Skorski) Magiera. Frank was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.  He is survived by his brothers Andy and David and sister Stasia Spear, numerous nephews and nieces.

He leaves his daughter, Gail Gelonese, her husband Leonard with whom he resided in Goshen, CT., a grandson Lenny Jr., granddaughter Amanda and great grandson Jacob. Also, he is survived by his son, Gary and his wife Debra of Myrtle Beach, SC.

After graduating West Warwick High School in 1944, he entered the service and served as a sergeant in the Army Air Force during World War II. He worked for Continental Baking Company for 38 years and retired in 1989.

Frank was known for his love of golf and his nickname “Fairway Frank” for driving the ball consistently in the fairway. Over the course of his life Frank played at over 100 different golf courses many of those in Myrtle Beach. During that time he had three holes in one and won the senior club championship four times at Farmingbury Hills Golf Course.

Frank will be most remembered for the loving attention he provided to his wife, children, grandchildren and his great grandchild.

His family wishes to thank Dr. Edmund Quinn for the kindness he has shown during Frank’s life in CT.

At request of the deceased, funeral services were private from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, West Warwick.  Frank was laid to rest with military honors at Notre Dame Cemetery alongside his wife of 50 years “Jackie”.
