Francis P. Ford

Francis P. “Frankie” Ford, 77, of West Warwick, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Lucia (Ford) Potter.  He was a resident of West Warwick for most of his life.

Mr. Ford was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science for many years at Providence College in the School of Arts and Sciences.  He completed his undergraduate degree at Rhode Island College in 1966 and his Master’s degree at Kansas University.  Frank was a devoted member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.  He also enjoyed traveling.

He leaves his cousins, Cathy Toth, Michael Ford and Philip F. Ford.  He was the nephew of the late John, Mary, Edward and Alice Ford. 

His funeral will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 9:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in SS. Peter & Paul Church, 48 Highland St., West Warwick.  Interment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Coventry.  Visiting hours Tuesday, 4:00-7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to SS.
