Ester T. (Mota) Sousa

SOUSA, Ester T. (Mota), 82, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, August 29, 2023 at Kent Hospital in Warwick.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edmundo R. Sousa, who passed away in 1987.  Born in Rabo de Peixe, Sao Miguel, Azores, a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Gloria (Terceira) Mota.

Mrs. Sousa was a machine operator at Leviton Mfg., for thirty-two years before retiring in 2002.  She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church where she was a member of the Ladies Rosary Sodality. She enjoyed spending time with her family, an avid gardener and a member of the Amigos de Rabo de Peixe organization.

She is survived by seven children, Olga Correia, Rosalina Silva, Joseph Sousa, Carlos Sousa, Madalena Arraial, Paul Sousa and Arthur Sousa, fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Medeiros and many nieces and nephews.  She was the sister of the late Norberto Mota, Manuel Mota, Maria Merces Vieira and Jose Mota.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 8:45 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.  Visiting hours Friday 4:00-7:00 p.m.  Information and condolences, please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
