Estelle F. (Cook) Toracinta, 85, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2026, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by the comfort of compassionate care.
She was the beloved wife of Richard E. Toracinta, with whom she recently celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary on April 15th—a remarkable testament to a lifetime of devotion, partnership, and enduring love. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ira J.F. Cook, Sr., West Warwick Police Department (Ret.), and Jessica (Marra) Cook. Estelle remained a proud and lifelong resident of West Warwick, deeply rooted in the community she cherished.
Mrs. Toracinta dedicated over twenty-seven years of service as a senior clerk typist with the Rhode Island Historical Preservation Commission, retiring in 2016. She approached her work with diligence and quiet professionalism, contributing to the preservation of the state’s rich history. A devoted communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church, her faith was a guiding presence throughout her life.
Above all, Estelle found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and steady presence will be profoundly missed. In addition to her husband, she leaves her three children: Richard I. Toracinta, Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy (Ret.), and his wife Chanel; Laurie D. Rossi and her husband Tom; and Jessica J. Toracinta-Bogosian. She was the cherished sister of Ira John Francis Cook, Jr., Deputy Chief, West Warwick Police Department (Ret.) and his wife Kim.
She also leaves seven beloved grandchildren, Rachel, Ricky, Matthew, Rebecca, Ira, Fran, and Lexy; four adored great-grandchildren, Kahlan, Elise, Olivia, and Ian; a niece, Jennifer Cook; a nephew, Ryan Cook and two great nieces, Abigail Spadoni and Emily Spadoni all of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, May 8, 2026 from 9:00-10:30 AM in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Interment will be private.
