Estelle Blais Obituary

Estelle B. (Heroux) Blais, 92, of Hall Street, West Warwick, formerly of West Warwick Avenue, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Monday, October 6, 2025, surrounded by her two daughters.

Born and raised in the Phenix section of West Warwick, Estelle was a proud daughter of the late Antonio and Clara (Robert) Heroux. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry L. Blais, Jr., with whom she shared 53 years of marriage before his passing in 2009.

Estelle was a graduate of Notre Dame Parochial School and West Warwick High School (class of ’51). Estelle and Henry (Tech Sergeant, USAF) spent 20 years enjoying their lives in the military, living in a multitude of states and countries before retiring to West Warwick in 1971.

For almost 54 years, Estelle was a member of Christ the King Church in West Warwick where she was an active volunteer. She was an Associate of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary and a member of the Sodality of Mary. She was a Lead facilitator of the Mother of Rivier Association.

She leaves behind her children: Gregory Blais (late wife Yvonne), Thomas Blais and his wife SMSGT (ret.) Maggie, the late David Blais, Kevin Blais (late wife Cheryl Pare-Blais), Dr. Linelle Blais and husband Dr. Joseph Dye, Nadine Huber and husband LCT (ret.) Dan, and Jason Blais.

Estelle was the loving grandmother of sixteen (16): Jamie, Katie, Melissa, Melanie, David, Andrew, Molly Bea, Sam, Sophie, Adam, Erika, Thomas, Tristan, Justin, Timmy, and Emily. She was also blessed with thirteen (13) great-grandchildren.

Estelle was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothee St. Sauveur and Lucile Briggs, and her brother, Gerard Heroux.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, beginning with visitation from 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. at the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 120 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Estelle will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Gough Avenue, West Warwick. Memorial contributions can be sent to Christ the King Church in her memory.
