Ernest Truss

TRUSS, Ernest, 80, of Newport, formerly of West Warwick, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at home.

He was the beloved husband of Elise E. (Culligan) Truss, they had been married for forty seven years.  Born in Marion, Alabama, a son of the late William Kelley and Millie (Thomas) Truss  He resided in West Warwick from 1975.

Ernest was a long haul truck driver for many years until retiring in 1996.  He was a past president of the Brotherhood Motorcycle Club and one of the founding members of the Rhode Island Motorcycle Association.

Besides his wife he leaves his children, Steven Truss and his wife Gina of West Warwick and their children, Xavier, Oasis and Jade, Tacia Truss of Newport, Mark Prattis of Olathe, Kansas, Ernest Truss of Biddeford, Maine and Brian Truss of Cranston; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and five siblings, Mattie White, Marie Kelley, Murriah Mell, Sarah Johnson and Shirley Arrington.  He was the brother of the late Susie Walker, Josephine Benton, Ora Lee White, Annie Clark and William O. Kelley.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 pm in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick (RI COVID Guidelines will be observed).  Interment will be private.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
