Ermano Bernardo

Ermano Bernardo, 91, of West Warwick passed away Saturday evening, July 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at home.   

He was the beloved husband of the late Maria (Vieira) Bernardo.  Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, he was a son of the late Theodore and Maria (Estrela) Bernardo.  He was a resident of West Warwick for fifty-two years.

Mr. Bernardo was a custodian at Leviton Manufacturing in Warwick for thirty years before retiring in 1996, prior to settling in Rhode Island he was a fisherman in Sao Miguel.  A devout Catholic, Mr. Bernardo, was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and loved his family very much.

He was the loving father of Nomezio Bernardo and his wife Ana of Warwick, Maria Pires of Warren and Eduarda Bernardo, Moses Bernardo, Jose Bernardo all of West Warwick, Anthony Bernardo of Warwick and the late Eduardo Bernardo. Cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of seven. Caring brother of Zelia Correiro, Moises Estrela and Anastacio Bernardo and the late Gabriele, Manuel and Jose Bernardo.  He was the grandfather of the late Nicholas Nelson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.  In lieu of flowers contributions to VNA Care New England Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
