PARE, Elphege, Jr., 92, of Coventry, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at home.
He was the beloved husband of the late Annette A. (Gendron) Pare, they had been married for 59 years upon her passing in 2022. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Elphege Pare, Sr. and Jeannette (Jussaume) Pare. He was a resident of Coventry since 1974.
Mr. Pare was employed as the service manager with the former Folgo Ford and Dick Cranston Ford for many years before retiring. He was a communicant of SS. John & Paul Church and a Korean War Army Veteran. He and his wife, Annette, enjoyed entertaining family and friends during the summer months on Johnsons Pond and he enjoyed many days boating on the pond.
He leaves a daughter, Sherry A. Schmitt and her husband William of Richmond; four grandchildren, Branden Pare and Nathan Pare and his wife Nina and Rachel and Dillon Schmitt; three siblings, Donald “Duke” Pare and his wife Patricia, Ann Marie Pare and Edith Rocheleau and her husband Donald and many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved father of the late Mark D. Pare.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 9:45 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main Street, Coventry. Interment with military honors will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
