Elda M. (DiDonato) Politelli, 99, of Warwick, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 19, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Politelli, who passed away in 1995. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Benaimino and Loretta (Bellini) DiDonato. She was a resident of Warwick since 1967.
Mrs. Politelli was a sales associate at the former Maxine’s in West Warwick and Filene’s in Warwick for many years before retiring. She treasured her four grandsons, enjoyed the company of friends at the McDermott pool and her quiet time reading her Kindle. She was also a skilled cook and baker who we remember especially for her homemade pizza, spinach pies, Easter breads and Christmas Eve antipasto.
She is survived by her two children, Wayne A. Politelli (late wife, Mary) and Martin J. Politelli and his wife Christine; four grandsons, Anthony J. Politelli, Daniel J. Politelli, Nicholas E. Politelli and Luke A. Politelli and four great-grandchildren, Leo F. Politelli, Weston M. Politelli, Francesca M. Politelli and Dominic J. Politelli. She was predeceased by her seven siblings, Domenica “Minnie” Battista, Bernadina “Bertha” Desirey, Domenico “Bill” DiDonato, Francesco “Frank” DiDonato, Alberto “Huggy” DiDonato, Mario DiDonato and Guido (Guy) DiDonato.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
