RILEY, Edward J., 87, of Arthur Street, West Warwick, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.
He was the beloved husband of Janet “Becky” R. (Selby) Riley, they had been married for sixty one years. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Leonard and Mary E. (Callnan) Riley.
Mr. Riley served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars totaling twenty years before retiring from the Navy in 1971. Following his military career he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Johnson & Wales University and became an accountant/comptroller at B.B. Greenberg Co. in Providence and retired from Centreville Bank working there for thirteen years. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and was an avid golfer.
Besides his wife he leaves two children, Michael J. Riley and Karen P. Pearson; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service and interment with military honors will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. The family has extended an invitation to all to attend a Remembrance Mass for Edward on Sunday, May, 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Church, 130 Legris Avenue, West Warwick. Following the Mass all are invited for a gathering at the Phenix Sportsman Club, 715 Main Street, West Warwick.
