TEDESCHI, Dorothy M. (Rezendes), 94, formerly of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, November 5, 2022 at St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph L. Tedeschi, Sr. Born in the Hillsgrove section of Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Georgianna (Morris) Rezendes.
Mrs. Tedeschi was employed with Stanley Bostitch for over 20 years before retiring in 1991. She was a long-time member of the Holy Ghost Society of West Warwick and took enormous pride in her Portuguese heritage. She loved her dogs, soap operas, recording to VHS, crocheting, and the nickel slots at Foxwoods.
Dorothy was by all accounts one of a kind. She had a way of connecting with people that reached out from her heart to theirs, endearing her to all those who came into her life even if only briefly. For her family and friends she would move every mountain with the sheer might of her love if it meant a clearer path for their travels. She basked in the love she had for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As she faced more hardships in life than most, she did so with humor and humility, never failing to offer a smile or a shoulder, never wavering from sharing her light despite her own experience of darkness.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Niemiec; a sister, Amelia Nolan; four grandchildren, Melinda Price, Frank Tedeschi, Michael Pichette, and Lacey Therrien; and seven great-grandchildren (her babies). She was predeceased by her son, Joseph L. Tedeschi, Jr.; grandson, Joseph L. Tedeschi, III and brothers, Manuel, Frank, Ernest, and John Rezendes.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Monday 5:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, extending forgiveness, practicing empathy, and showing kindness in her memory would be appreciated.
