Dorothy J. (Gough) Paul, 94, formerly of East Greenwich, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday evening, May 27, 2024 at Kent Regency Center, Warwick.
She was the beloved wife of the late William A. Paul. They were married for fifty-three years upon his passing in 2013. Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Peter J. and Mary E. (Martin) Gough. She was a resident of East Greenwich for over fifty years.
Dot was a teacher’s assistant with the Barbara M. Tufts Cooperative Preschool in East Greenwich for many years before retiring. She was an active communicant of St. Francis de Sales Church in North Kingstown, an avid Red Sox fan, loved music and was very proud of her Irish heritage.
She is survived by three daughters, Jamie Langlais and her husband Robert, Carol Rondeau and Mary Lambert and her husband Ed; a son, William Paul, Jr. and his wife Kathleen; a son-in-law, Frank Venezia; a sister-in-law, Shirley Gough and her husband Andrew; six grandchildren, Jennifer DeGregorio, Kate Renaud, Daniel and Adam Langlais, Samantha and Kaylee Paul; five great grandchildren, Kyla and Violet Renaud, Chase and Emma DeGregorio and Miles Paquin and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Sharon Venezia and sister of the late Barbara M. (Gough) McKenna, Harry Gough and Patricia A. (Gough) Senerchia.
Her funeral will be held Monday, June 3, 2024 at 8:45 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis de Sales Church, 381 School St., North Kingstown followed by interment in St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.
