Clifton E. “Kip” Reynolds, Jr., 86, of East Greenwich and Block Island, passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, May 5, 2026, surrounded by the loving care of his family.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara B. “Bobbie” (Beck) Reynolds, with whom he shared a devoted and loving marriage of nearly sixty-five years. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, loyalty, and countless cherished memories.
Born in Ossining, New York, he was the son of the late Clifton E. Reynolds, Sr. and Marie (Webster) Reynolds. Kip made his home in East Greenwich since 1980 and was also deeply connected to Jeffersonville, Vermont, his ancestral home and Block Island, places that brought him great joy, peace, and treasured times with family and friends throughout the years.
Kip enjoyed a distinguished thirty-five-year career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before retiring in 1996. He was respected by colleagues and clients alike for his integrity, professionalism, and kind manner.
A proud graduate of Dartmouth College, Class of 1961 and Columbia University class of 1963, Kip valued education, lifelong learning, and the enduring friendships formed his collecting the years. He remained an active and loyal alumnus throughout his life. He was a proud and active member of the Freemasons for over 3 decades.
Kip will be remembered for his warm sense of humor, steady presence, and deep appreciation for family traditions and time spent together. He loved animals, restoring and showing antique cars and spending time with his best friend,
Bobbie and all of their children and grandchildren. He was often heard to say, “there’s nothing more important than family.”
Besides his wife, he leaves his three children, Troy Reynolds of Coventry, Carl Reynolds and his wife Clarissa of Wakefield, and Susan Leach and her husband Bill of Warwick; his brother, Robert W. Reynolds of Morristown, New Jersey; his grandchildren, Carl Reynolds Jr. of North Kingstown, Rachel Carroll of Robert Lee, Texas, Greta Sloan of Mooresville, Indiana, Daniel Reynolds of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Elsa Hunziker of North Scituate, Rhode Island , Jack Reynolds of San Diego California, Peter Hunziker of Greenville, South Carolina, Matthew and Mia Reynolds of Wakefield, Rhode Island and nine great-grandchildren who were immense joys to him. He was the brother of the late Nancy Spier.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 4:00–7:00 PM in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, RI. Interment will be private.
