Clark A. Loper, 76, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 16, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was the beloved husband of Cherlyn B. (Horta) Loper, they had been married for fifty-four years. Born in Lewistown, Montana, a son of the late Gerald A. and Clara “Doris” (Moritz) Loper of Great falls, Montana. He was a resident of West Warwick for many years.
Mr. Loper was a Vietnam War era Navy Veteran serving with the Seabees Battalion and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and the Vietnam Service Metal with one Bronze Star. He enjoyed fishing, music, singing and playing guitar. He was a great storyteller and brought laughter to many people. He also was an avid collector of Native-American artifacts. His wish was fulfilled when his puppy “Cherokee” joined the family.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Clark A. Loper, Jr. and his wife Rebecca; two siblings, Douglas Loper and Patricia Dioguardo; four grandchildren, Michael Bizzaco, Aaron Loper, Rachel Loper and Amanda Hinkle and a great grandson, Raziel Hill. He was the brother of the late Richard Loper.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
