CHAPPELL, Charles G., 83, of Exeter, formerly of Providence, passed away Christmas Day surrounded by family at the home of his nephew in Exeter.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Gertrude (Robinson) Chappell. He resided in the Manton Avenue section of Providence for over forty years.
Mr. Chappell was a machinist with Marshall & Williams Company for over thirty years before retiring in 2000. He was a Vietnam War era Army Veteran, in his younger years he was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed traveling where he booked many cruises to various destinations. He also loved taking day trips to local casinos.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews including, Charles D. Chappell of Exeter and Susan R. Colvin of Coventry. He was the brother of the late Roderick W. Chappell, Clifford Chappell and David N. Chappell.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
