Carla Maria (Lopes) Wardyga

Carla Maria (Lopes) Wardyga, 57, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

She was the beloved wife of Charles W. Wardyga, with whom she shared 35 years of devoted marriage. Born in Lourenço Marques, Mozambique, she was the cherished daughter of Fernanda M. (Monteiro) Lopes and the late António S. Lopes, who preceded her in death last year.

Carla was a dedicated ESL teacher at Davies Career and Technical High School in Lincoln, where she touched countless lives over the years. Her students were not just learners in her classroom, but individuals she nurtured with love, patience, and unwavering support. Teaching was never just a profession to Carla—it was a calling and a reflection of her deep compassion and belief in others.

Those who knew Carla will remember her as a woman of quiet strength, boundless grace, and deep faith. Her gentleness and perseverance radiated through every aspect of her life. She embraced the roles of wife, mother, and daughter with profound love and devotion, embodying the truest meaning of unconditional love.

In her final journey, Carla’s courage remained unshaken. She entered eternal rest with dignity and peace, surrounded by those who cherished her most. An angel on earth, she has now received her wings.

In addition to her husband and mother, Carla leaves behind her beloved daughter, Adriana Wardyga, who was her pride and joy. She was predeceased by her dear sister, Isabel Marie Lopes.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, West Warwick.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
