RICHER, Arthur A., 85, of Coventry, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday afternoon, March 8, 2021, at Cherry Hill Manor, Johnston.
He was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Dias) Richer, to whom he had been married for fifty-nine years. Born in East Greenwich, a son of the late Arthur and Hope (Gardiner) Richer. He was a resident of Coventry for most of his life.
Mr. Richer was a pipe welder at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division in Groton, CT for thirty-five years until retiring in 1995. He was a 1953 graduate of West Warwick High School and served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1957 until 1963. He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and making pilgrimages. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, fishing and amateur photography.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Lisa A. Storti and her husband Tom of Cranston, Michelle M. Bergeron and her husband Don of Warwick and Cherie A. Richer of Pawtucket and eight grandchildren, Jessica, Chelsea, Jonathan, Christopher, Julianne, Daniel, Raymond and Nicholas. He was the brother of the late Robert Richer.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 am in St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am (All State Covid-19 guidelines will be observed). Interment with military honors will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.
