Armand Boucher Obituary

Armand Boucher, 92, of West Warwick, passed away Saturday evening, January 28, 2023 at West View Nursing Home and Rehabilitation, West Warwick.

He was the beloved husband of Beverly J. (Mullen) Boucher. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anita (Laboissonniere) Boucher.  He lived in Rhode Island most of his life.

Armand was a graduate of West Warwick High School, and was responsible for helping coordinate several class reunions through the years.  Recruited by the National Guard, he served with the 705th AAA Gun Battalion in Okinawa during the Korean Conflict.  He served for three years, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.  He worked several years as an office manager for Good Year Tire Service Centers throughout South Eastern New England.  Armand was best known locally as the owner of “The Carillon” Restaurant, now under new ownership since 1977 as “The Cowesett Inn.”  He retired from “A Quick Tire” in Wakefield, RI as an office manager with more than twenty-two years of service behind him.  He retired in 2002. 

Later in life, he served in several volunteer Christian organizations, including Rhode Island Right to Life.  He helped coordinate several National Day of Prayer Meetings throughout Rhode Island, and successfully lobbied for the restoration of the opening prayer at West Warwick Town Council meetings in 1996.  He served as President of The Greater Rhode Island Chapter of the American Family Association for ten years.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Christopher J. Boucher and his wife Rose (Lobao); a daughter, Anita Boucher-Concilio and her husband Peter; a step-son, Thomas Moore; two step-daughters, Maureen Leyden (Moore) and her husband Jack and Stormy Martin; five grandchildren, Rosemary Boucher, Mariah Whitcomb (Capurso), Lauren Smith, Caitlin Leyden and Jonathan Capurso; three great grandchildren, Max Capurso, Alexander Sidhom and Stella Capurso and two nieces, Joanne (Comeau) Klonoski and Leslie (Comeau) O'Connor.  He was a brother of the late Dolores Comeau and a step-father of the late Peggy Martin.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a funeral home service by Rev.
