CABRAL, Antonio M. “Tony”, 62, of West Warwick, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday morning, February 24, 2022, at Kent Hospital.
He was the beloved husband for 38 years of Maria J. (Calheta) Cabral. Born in Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Jose Cabral Jr. and Aldina (Sousa) Cabral. Antonio came to the United States in February of 1983.
Antonio was employed at Leviton Manufacturing as a forklift operator for sixteen years. He was also employed at Michael Realty as a contractor for thirteen years and at ACE as a handyman for ten years. He was well known as a goalkeeper on many soccer teams in the Azores and the USA. Antonio’s hobbies included fishing, playing cards with the family, watching MMA and boxing, and he was an avid fan of Benfica soccer. Antonio will be remembered as a hard worker, great friend, a loving husband and father and loved his dog, Leo.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Mark A. Cabral and his wife Laura (Johnson) Cabral, Derrick J. Cabral and Brandon J. Cabral, all of West Warwick; and his siblings, Teolinda (Cabral) Pedra, Helena (Cabral) Amaral, Jose Cabral and Gloria (Cabral) Bernardo all of the Azores, and Rosa Donatila Cabral Branco of Canada. He was the brother of the late Hildeberto Cabral.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, West Warwick.
