Anthony Senerchia, 94, of Westerly, formerly of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, December 6, 2025, at Apple Rehab Clipper in Westerly.
Born and raised in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Luigi and Nicolena (Pontarelli) Senerchia. A lifelong resident of the community he loved, Anthony was known for his warm spirit, steadfast work ethic, and unwavering devotion to family.
For many years, Anthony worked as a cook at the former Ladd School in Exeter, where he was admired for both his culinary skill and his kind-hearted nature. A proud Korean War–era U.S. Army veteran, he carried with him throughout his life the values of service, humility, and camaraderie. Outside of work, Anthony found great joy in preparing meals for family and friends, often bringing people together through his love of cooking.
Anthony is survived by his sister, Dolores R. Pontarelli, with whom he shared his home, and her husband, Harry; his Godson, Donavan R. Corey, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews who will remember him with affection. He was predeceased by his siblings Fred Senerchia, Ida Rozzero, Eleanor Galasso, Luke Senerchia, and Mary Gamba.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick, with interment to follow privately. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anthony’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
