Anthony Saritelli, Jr. Obituary

Anthony Vito Saritelli, Jr. was born June 27, 1946 in Providence RI. Son of the late Anthony Vito Saritelli, Sr. and Rita E (Coulombe) Saritelli. Survived by his wife Diane Pauline (Massotti) Saritelli. Predeceased by two brothers, Louis Joseph Saritelli from Harmony RI and John Robert Saritelli from Hilton Head SC. He was the beloved father of the late Anthony V. Saritelli, III (deceased) son Michael Anthony Saritelli and spouse Nicole R. Saritelli from Vinton VA and daughter Michelle Lee Saritelli and spouse Joseph E. Latham of Wakefield RI.

Anthony “Tony” was known as “Snookie” to his mother and his dear Aunt Margaret “Tootsie” Silva (deceased). He was also known as “Bampy”, “Grampy”, and “Beep-Beep” by his three granddaughters and grandson; Grandson Brent A Saritelli, Granddaughters Victoria F Latham, Olivia D Latham, Abigail N Saritelli and soon to be Grandson Benjamin Northup fiancé of Victoria. Additionally, he was an Uncle to several Nieces and Nephews and a Great Uncle to many.

He was an owner and operator of Tony’s Arco Service Center for ten years. His nickname was “Mr. Fix It” and his famous slogan was “Don’t back over Tony, he stands behind his work”. Anthony was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a graduate of the Rhode Island Trade School with a degree in Automotive Technology. He was a graduate of the Rhode Island Conservatory of Music with a degree in Musical Theory.

He later became an employee of New England Telephone and retired from Verizon after 20 years of service. He designed and patented equipment protective gear that was used by Telecom Technicians. He was also instrumental for the creation and branding of the current Verizon Logo.

He was known as a loving and caring grandfather and spent his retirement years to help raise his granddaughters during their early developmental years.

Christmas was important to him for all the people that he loved. Christmas at his home was always an epic event that lasted for days. He could always be seen with a camera trying to catch all the special moments that were important to him. The tradition he created will live on through his loving family.

He was a true friend and mentor to many people both personal and professional.

His hobbies were many. His love of music was vast. He wrote, engineered, recorded and sang in numerous genres. He played many musical instruments throughout his life with some of his best times spent playing music in his brothers’ garage playing together for hours.

We take comfort in that he is once again with his mother Rita, and his Brother-in-Law Richard A Massotti.

He truly impacted many lives and will be missed.

We, his family, will always love him very much.

May he Rest In Peace!
