COSTANZO, Anthony, seven weeks shy of his 100th birthday, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, February 21, 2022 at Kent Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie (LaRocca) Costanzo, upon her passing in 2020 they had been married for seventy-three years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph and Assunta (Raimondo) Costanzo. He was a resident of West Warwick for many years.
Mr. Costanzo was employed as a certified welder at Amtrol, Inc. for fifty years before retiring in 1997 and also was a cook at the former Brookside Inn in Coventry for many years. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, was an avid golfer and had a great passion for cooking. He received a certificate from New England Technical Institute and was a life member of the Pasco Senerchia Post 74 American Legion and the Langevin/Boudreau Veterans of Foreign War Post # 449.
He is survived by three children, Cecele Riel and her husband Joseph of Atlanta, GA, Joseph A. Costanzo and his wife Jeanne of West Warwick and Marie Costanzo-Simas and her husband Gary of West Warwick; three grandchildren, Kim Wilkins, Dawn Riel and Joseph A. Costanzo, Jr and two great grandchildren, Milo Wilkins and Joseph A. Costanzo, III. He was the brother of the late Philomena Notarianni, James Costanzo, Nicolina Capoverdi and Mary Masterson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick (Masks wearing will be optional) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the VNA Care New England & Hospice, 51 Health Lane, Warwick, RI 02886 in his memory would be appreciated.
