Mulcahey, Ann (Cassidy), 81, of Cranston, passed away Tuesday July 6, 2021 with her family by her side following a lengthy battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
She was the beloved wife of Robert T. Mulcahey for 58 years. Born in Newport, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McLaughlan) Cassidy. Ann will be greatly missed by her family, including her children, Maureen A. Murphy (Keelan) of Raynham, MA, Heather M. Mulcahey of Weymouth, MA, and Thomas C. Mulcahey (Joanne) of Bridgewater, MA, grandchildren Meghan Mulcahey, T.J. Mulcahey, Rosalind Murphy, Celia Murphy, and Seamus Murphy. She is also survived by her brother, Francis Cassidy (Theresa) of Dover, NH. She was a sister of the late Thomas Cassidy and Vincent Cassidy.
She was a graduate of St. Catherine Academy of Newport, RI, (1958). She went on to complete her degree in education at Rhode Island College, Providence, RI, (1963), and later earned her nursing degree at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, NY (1995). She taught elementary education in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. She was the office manager at Management Recruiters in Albany, NY. She worked as a registered nurse in dermatology in New York, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 10:00 am in Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston. Interment in St. Columba’s Cemetery in Middletown next to her parents. Visitation and flowers are respectfully omitted.
