Angelina P. (Junior) Pontus, 88, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center.
She was the beloved wife of the late Manuel Pontus. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Manuel and Florence (Cunha) Junior. She was a West Warwick resident for most of her life.
Mrs. Pontus was employed for many years as a retail meat saleswoman before retiring. She was a member of the West Warwick Senior Center and the Crompton Veterans Organization Card League.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Cheryl A. Dunton and survived by her children, Manuel Murray and his wife Anne of Coventry, Martha Murray Furtado and her spouse George of Warwick; Patricia Potter and her partner Doug Frageorgia of West Warwick; Jerrie Ann Bombardier and her partner Steve Ouellette of North Stonington, CT; son-in-law, David Dunton of West Warwick; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was a sister of the late Phillip Junior, Mary Alice O’Connell and Larry Junior.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph Church, 854 Providence St., West Warwick. Interment will be private.
