Aline C. (Brousseau) Smith

Aline C. (Brousseau) Smith, 77, of West Warwick, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Lakeside Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Kingstown.

She was the devoted wife of Ronald V. Smith, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of fifty-six years—built on a foundation of love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.

Born in Providence, Aline was the cherished daughter of the late William J. and Irene D. (Lacroix) Brousseau. She grew up in Coventry where she was a graduate of Coventry High School and following her marriage to Ron, they made their home in West Warwick.

For many years, Aline worked as an administrative assistant in the banking industry, where she was admired for her professionalism and kind spirit. She retired from Citizens Bank in 2010, closing a meaningful chapter in a career that touched many lives.

A woman of quiet faith and compassion, Aline generously gave her time as a volunteer in the Chaplaincy Department at Kent Hospital, offering comfort and companionship to those in need. Her warmth extended far beyond her professional and volunteer efforts—she brought joy into the lives of all who knew her.

Aline found happiness in the simple pleasures: shopping, traveling with her beloved husband to Las Vegas and Amish Country, and enjoying the occasional game of duckpin bowling in her younger days. Her presence—steady and kind—was a gift to her family and friends.

She leaves behind her loving husband Ronald; her son, Jason A. Smith and his wife Cindi; and her adored granddaughter, Miranda Smith, who brought immense pride and joy to her life. She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family and many cousins.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Aline’s life at her funeral, which will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
