Rita T. (O'Neill) Strasser

STRASSER, Rita T. (O’Neill), 90, of Chamber Rd., West Warwick, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Kent Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert P. Strasser, they were married for 67 years at his passing.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Feeney) O’Neill.

Mrs. Strasser was a sales associate for twenty five years at the Warwick Mall’s Filenes Department Store before retiring in 1993.  She was an active communicant of St. Mary Parish.

She is survived by three daughters, Kathleen M. Rechter (Mark) of Chepachet, Maureen R. McCarthy (Kevin) of Maricopa, AZ and Paula H. Strasser (Dawn Fry) of Tolleson, AZ; five grandchildren, Jennifer Thibodeau, Joshua and Justin Rechter, Erin and Brian McCarthy and four great grandchildren, Talia and Jordan Thibodeau, Sergio Sanchez and Andrew Rechter.  She was the sister of the late Mary Catanzaro, Elizabeth Coates, Christine Pilkington, John, James, Robert and Thomas O’Neill.

Her funeral will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 9:00 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Mary Church, 70 Church Street, West Warwick.  Interment will follow in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours Wednesday 4:00-7:00  pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Mary Church or West Warwick Firefighters Memorial Association, P.O.
