Michael J. Thomas, Sr.

THOMAS, SR., Michael J., 70, of West Warwick, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday evening, August 30, 2019 at the Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of RI, Coventry. 

He was the beloved husband of Manuela M. (Linhares) Thomas, they had been married for forty-three years.  Born in Providence, a son of the late Mariano and Marie Therese (Heroux) Thomas.  He was a resident of West Warwick for most of his life.

Mr. Thomas was a mechanical technician at Leviton Manufacturing for 35 years before retiring.  He was a Vietnam War Air Force Veteran, a communicant of St. Anthony Church, a train enthusiast and enjoyed motorcycles and cars.

Besides his wife he leaves a son, Michael J. Thomas, Jr. of West Warwick; two brothers, George Thomas of Coventry and James Thomas of Arlington, Texas; two sisters, Marion Fratus and Melanie James both of Coventry and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 at 8:30 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick.  Interment with military honors in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  Visiting hours Thursday 4:00-7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions to St. Anthony Church, 10 Sunset Avenue, West Warwick, RI 02893 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
