Irene K. (Guindon) Martin

Irene K. (Guindon) Martin, 82, of Rumford Towers, 95 Newman Avenue, Rumford, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at Rhode Island Hospital.

She was the wife of the late Albert J. Martin, Jr.  Born in Coventry, she was the daughter of the late George O. and Annie I. (Rathbun) Guindon.

Irene was employed in the meat department at IGA Grocery Stores for many years before retiring.

She is survived by two daughters, Maryanne Rogers of Warwick and Debra Wilcox of Hope Valley; two sisters, Ethel Ammon of Coventry and Mary Fitzgerald of Mansura, LA; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and twelve nieces and nephews.  She was the mother of the late Albert J. Martin, III and Alice Martin and sister of the late Ida Hoxie, Dorothy Raz and Laura Guindon.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Monday, August 28, 2017 from 11:00 -12:00 pm in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick followed by a funeral home service at 12:00 pm.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick.
