SZYDLO, Henry, 100, a lifelong resident of West Warwick, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence.
He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn C. (Watling) Szydlo, who was the true love of his life and adored very much. Born in West Warwick, he was the son of the late Frank and Magdalina (Betley) Szydlo.
Mr. Szydlo was a carpenter in the home construction industry for many years before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church, a World War II Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion Post 2, Club Frontenac and the PNA 1770. He loved spending time with his granddaughters and enjoyed golfing and walking.
He is survived by a son, Henry D. “Hank” Szydlo and his wife Constance of West Warwick; two granddaughters, Kathryn Greidanus and her husband Richard of Anchorage, Alaska and Kimberly Cassin and her husband Chad of Keene, NH and four great grandchildren, Isabelle, Henry Thomas and Richard “RJ” Greidanus and Sirena Cassin. He was the father of the late PFC Thomas J. Szydlo and brother of the late Joseph, Stanley, Thomas, James and Emily Szydlo.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 20, 2018 from 9:30-10:30 am in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Mary Church, Church St., West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be held in the parish cemetery.
