Ernest P. Rezendes

REZENDES, Ernest P., 87, of Wakefield Street, West Warwick passed away Thursday morning, August 15, 2019 at Cedar Crest Nursing Center, Cranston.   

He was the beloved husband of the late Loretta B. (Bedard) Rezendes, they were married for 52 years upon her passing in 2011.  Born in the Hillsgrove section of Warwick, he was the son of the late Manuel and Georgianna (Morris) Rezendes.  He was a resident of West Warwick for most of his life.

Mr. Rezendes was employed as a machine operator with Cooley Manufacturing Company for many years before retiring as a supervisor.  He was a Korean War Army Veteran and a member of the VFW Post 9404 in Coventry.  He enjoyed fishing, working on crossword puzzles and being with his family and friends.

He was the loving father of Ernest M. Rezendes and his wife Karen of Chepachet and Diana J. Carano and her husband Michael of Cranston.  Caring brother of Dorothy Tedeschi of West Warwick and Amelia Nolan in Virginia.   Devoted grandfather of Jamie Keedy and her husband Andre, Danielle Rezendes, Michaela Carano and her fiancé James Spina, Jr. and Kendra Carano. Cherished great-grandfather of Julianna DiPina, Andre Keedy, Jr., Aiden Keedy and Oaklin Spina.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was the brother of the late Manuel, Frank and John Rezendes.

His funeral will be held Monday, August 19, 2019 at 9:00 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick.  Interment with military honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
