PEREIRA, Antonio, 91, of Cleveland Street, West Warwick, passed away Monday afternoon, June 4, 2018 at Kent Hospital, Warwick.
He was the beloved husband of Ida R. (Salema) Pereira, they were married for 64 years. A lifelong resident of West Warwick, he was the son of the late Anselmo and Maria (Castanheira) Pereira.
Mr. Pereira was employed as a supervisor at American Insulated Wire Company and then as a batch operator at the former Ciba Geigy Chemical Company in Cranston for seventeen years before retiring in 1986. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, Enjoyed playing cards, golfing and gardening and most especially, spending time with his family.
Besides his wife he leaves his three children, Diane M. Tillson of West Greenwich, Anthony M. Pereira of Foster and Ronald V. Pereira of West Warwick and four grandchildren, David, Daniel, Johanna and Nicholas Pereira. He was the brother of the late Mabel Souza.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 9:30 am in St. Anthony Church, Sunset Avenue, West Warwick. Interment with military honors will be private. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
