Annette R. (Archambault) Carpenter

CARPENTER, Annette R. (Archambault), 95, formerly of Spencer St., West Warwick, passed away peacefully at West View Nursing Center on Friday, March 3, 2017. 

She was the beloved wife of the late George F. Carpenter for 39 years until his passing in 1989.  Born in West Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Servules and Rhea (Turgeon) Archambault. 

Mrs. Carpenter received a Bachelor’s Degree from RI College and a Master’s Degree from Boston University.  She taught mathematics at West Warwick High School for seven years, followed by eleven years at Newton North High School in MA before retiring.

She was a member of the RI & Kent County Retired Teachers Associations, the Pawtuxet Valley Preservation & Historical Society, Literacy Volunteers of Kent County, and AARP, West Warwick Chapter, as well as a life member of the Retired Educators Association of MA and the Kent Hospital Auxiliary.  She also served for many years as the corresponding secretary for Epsilon Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma of which she was a member.  She took numerous enrichment courses at Salve Regina University.    

She is survived by four nieces and nephews, Gail Mey (George), Denise Larson (Gordon), Stephen Archambault (Susan) and Peter Archambault; five grand-nieces and nephews, Alyssa, Caitlin and Nathan Archambault, Stacey Souza, Lindsay Hanson and seven godchildren.  She was the sister of the late Ernest “Kit”, Maurice, and Norman “Pete” Archambault.     

Her visitation and funeral will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 am in the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 62 Pleasant St., West Warwick.  Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Warwick.  Kindly omit flowers, contributions to the Rhea Archambault Memorial Fund, c/o The RI Foundation, One Union Station, Providence, RI 02903 in her memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit: henault-gallogly.com
