Thomas P. Vanasse

VANASSE, Thomas P., 68, of Cottage Street, West Warwick, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. 

Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Henry and Germaine O. (Demuth) Vanasse.  He was a lifelong resident of West Warwick.

Mr. Vanasse was an assemblyman at Stanley Bostitch for 40 years before retiring in 2010.  He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran, an avid golfer, bowler and model railroad train enthusiast.

He is survived by two brothers, Henry L. Vanasse and his wife Pauline of West Warwick and Philip J. Vanasse of Warwick; four nieces; two nephews and ten grand nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 at 9 am from the HENAULT – GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am in St. Vincent de Paul Church, 6 St. Vincent de Paul St., Coventry.  Interment will follow with military honors in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.  Visiting hours Monday 5-7 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, RI Chapter, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Ste. 3004, Warwick, RI 02886 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit:www.henault-gallogly.com
