Roland E. Grandin, Jr.

Roland E. Grandin, Jr., of Wolfeboro, NH, passed away on October 28, 2017, at the age of 87 years old.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on September 2, 1930, Roland was the older of two children to Roland E. and Florence (Zygand) Grandin.  He was the devoted husband of June S. (Neil) Grandin of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada for 65 years.  Roland and June began their life together in Niagara Falls, NY, lived in Lakeland and West Palm Beach, Florida, before eventually settling in Alburtis, Pennsylvania. They retired to Wolfeboro, NH, in 1993, where he continued to enjoy gardening, woodworking, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren; avidly photographing and videotaping family gatherings. 

Roland graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949 and was on the basketball team that went on to play in the state championships.  He graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.  He worked as a research chemist at Air Products & Chemicals, Inc., for over 30 years.  He also served in the 16th Infantry Regiment of the United States Armed Forces during the Korean War era.  He leaves behind his loving wife, June S. (Neil) Grandin; daughter Ramona Roch, her husband John, and their two children, Daniel and Douglas of West Warwick, RI; daughter Cynthia Davis and Timothy Carty of Duxbury, MA; daughter Shari McCusker, her husband Steven, and their two children, Connor and Cameron, of Boston, MA; brother Donald Grandin, his wife Isabelle, and their children of Angora, Indiana; and sister-in-law Dorothy Cook and her children of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. 

Services will be held on Monday, November 6 at 10AM at Hetherington & Deans Funeral Chapel, 5176 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada followed by a graveside service at the Fairview Cemetery, 4501 Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.  The full obituary can be read on www.henault-gallogly.com.
