Welcome to the memorial page for

Michael J. Wrobleski

March 31, 1968 ~ August 24, 2016 (age 48) 48 Years Old

Michael J. Wrobleski., 48, of Providence, died in his home on Wednesday, August 24, 2016.

Born in Fall River, MA, and a graduate of BMC Durfee High School of Fall River, Michael's brilliant mind earned him a scholarship to Worcester Polytechnic Institute.  He studied biology, but he continued to engage in his lifelong love of music  -- Michael's participation in WPI's choral program led him to meet his beloved wife, the late Dr. Andra Cyronak, who died in 2014.  After Michael and Andra settled in her native Providence, Michael worked for a number of years in Boston conducting biological research.  But his passion for music was enormous, leading him to enroll in University of Rhode Island's vocal performance program with a concentration in opera. No one who heard Mike sing would doubt he had the pipes.

His three young children soon absorbed much of his time, but Michael served as a church musician and continued to perform locally in operas and musicals. Michael also became an expert home chef, creating countless memorable meals to share with friends and family.
Mike's resounding laugh and unquenchable sense of humor could overwhelm a room -- or two -- with a  boundless bonhomie that truly was a joy to experience.  Michael was a one of a kind guy who will be deeply missed by his many devoted friends, comrades, and kindred spirits.

Mike and Andra have three beautiful, amazing children together – Wanda Grace 14, Joseph Samuel 12 and Lucy Isabel 10.  Those who love Mike pray for the guidance and support they will need in the coming years and are grateful for the unstinting devotion of grandparents Judith and Charles Cyronak and long-time family friends Tiffany and Bradley Collins.

Michael is also survived by his parents, Joseph M. and Eleanor M. (Sylvia) Wrobleski, seven siblings, Jo Ann Distefano, Carol Wrobleski, Sheryl Wrobleski, Mary Halladay, Joseph Wrobleski, Jr., Eleanor Wrobleski – Vandergrift and Stephen Wrobleski along with ten nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at 10:00 am in St. Pius V Church, Eaton Street, Providence. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
