Lorraine L. (Bolduc) Lacroix

September 16, 1928 ~ March 14, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Lacroix, Lorraine L, (Bolduc) 88, of Hopkins Hill Road, Coventry, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at home, with her loving family around her.

Lorraine was the beloved wife of the late Maurice N. "Jim" Lacroix. Born in West Warwick, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosilia (Roy) Bolduc. She was a lifelong resident of the Pawtuxet Valley.

After graduating from the Rhode Island College of Education in 1949, Lorraine began her 40 year career as an elementary school teacher at the Nausauket school in Warwick.  She then taught at Monsignor Vincent in West Warwick, and at Oak Haven and Hopkins Hill schools in Coventry until she retired in 1988.

Deeply devout, she was a communicant of SS. John and James Parish, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and dedicated member of the choir, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Ladies of St. Anne. For more than 25 years, she was a Marie Riviere Associate and a lifelong, dedicated friend to the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. Her unwavering belief in the goodness of the Lord and her commitment to the doctrine of good works, were demonstrated through her tireless volunteer work for many organizations, including the Friends of the Coventry Library, Literacy Volunteers, the Prison Chaplaincy Team, and the Body of Christ Adoration Chapel. Generous of heart, spirit and energy, she gave selflessly of her time to people in need and supporting others who minister to them.

Lorraine was a loving and nurturing mother to her six children, Marc M. Lacroix and his wife Elizabeth of Coventry, Laurent L. “Larry” Lacroix of Coventry, Briand E. Lacroix and his partner Joanne Feaster of North Kingstown, Celeste C. Lacroix and her husband Adam Ferrell of Charleston, SC and Michelle M. Wilcox and her husband Kevin of Coventry; and was predeceased by her son Guy J. Lacroix. Caring sister of Claire P. Fortin of Warwick, and her late husband, Leon; grandmother of five, great grandmother of one, devoted aunt, cousin and niece, she cherished her family and never ceased expressing her love and concern for all of us.

Her funeral will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 10 am from the HENAULT-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St., West Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in SS. John and James Church, Washington St., West Warwick. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich. Visiting hours Sunday 2 – 6 pm. Lorraine’s favorite color was blue; her family invites friends and relatives to wear something blue in her memory. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Crossroads RI, 160 Broad St., Prov., RI 02903 or Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104 in the memory of Lorraine Lacroix, MRA would be appreciated.
