Kathryn Q. (Quinn) Coletta

Kathryn (Quinn) Coletta, widow of Paul R. Coletta and a resident of Melbourne, FL passed away peacefully in her home on December 6, 2016.  She was 87 years old.

Mrs. Coletta and her late husband had lived in Brevard County, FL since 1996 and resided fulltime in Melbourne since 2000.  Previously they lived in Coventry, RI and later had homes in Carolina, RI and in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada.

Mrs. Coletta was born and grew up in Providence, RI, the daughter of the late John A. Quinn and Kathryn (Collins) Quinn.  She graduated from St. Xavier’s Academy and Bryant College. 

She worked for many years as an Executive Assistant in law and corporate offices in Providence. She served as the first and only woman ever on the RI Draft Board.  Before retirement, she and her husband were co-owners in Paul R Coletta CPA Services, and several other ventures in the solar and retail industries. 

Mrs. Coletta held memberships in Sigma Iota Beta Sorority, the Suntree Community Emergency Response Team, the Neighbors of Suntree and the Suntree Country Club. 

She is survived by her three sons, Allan (Rosemary), Mark and David (Naomi), three grandchildren (Marie, Paul and Alexandra), and three great grandchildren (Ava, Giada and Guiseppe).   Mrs. Coletta is also survived by her brother John C. Quinn, a niece (Lo-anne), a nephew (R.B.) and many cousins.  She was especially close to her cousin and godchild, Mary Lou Gentz, and her cousin James Hobin. 

Mrs. Coletta was also blessed with a wonderful and greatly appreciated extended family in both Florida and Rhode Island.

A memorial service will be held in Melbourne, FL at the convenience of family and friends. 

Her funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016 at 10 am from the Carolina Mill, 6 Carolina Mill Lane, (off 112) Carolina, RI.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Mary Church, Carolina Back Road, Carolina.  Interment will follow in White Brook Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be at the family center in the restored Carolina Mill on Friday from 4-8 pm.  Information and condolences, please visit www.galloglyfuneralhome.com
