John P.F. Murphy

MURPHY, John P. F., 95, of Elmbrook Drive, Warwick, passed away Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2018 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. 

He was the husband of the late Dolores G. (Duprey) Murphy.  Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Patrick and Ellen “Nellie” (Murphy) Murphy.

Mr. Murphy was an Aeronautical Engineer with the U.S. Government for many years before retiring.  He was a WW II Navy Veteran and a communicant of St. Kevin Church.

He is survived by five sons, Michael J. (Linda) of Riverside, Gregory P. (Dottie) of Jamestown, Robert J. (Tina) of Whitinsville, MA, John R. (Geryl) of New Orleans and Joseph E. (Colleen) of Warwick, two daughters, Kathleen A. Tefft of Exeter and Maureen P. Murphy of Coventry; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and a sister, Patricia M. Fox of Miami, FL.  He was the father of the late Eileen M. Caramiciu and brother of the late Rev. Joseph F. Murphy, Catherine V. Murphy, Mary L. Rogers and Eileen T. LaRiviere.

His funeral will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 8:30 am from the PRATA-GALLOGLY Funeral Home, 78 Providence Street, West Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick.  Interment with military honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Visiting hours Tuesday 4:00-7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114 in his memory would be appreciated.  Information and condolences, please visit: www.PrataGallogly.com
