Barbara M. (Hopkins) Romeo

ROMEO, Barbara M. (Hopkins), 83, of Scituate Vista Drive, Cranston, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Romeo.  Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Earl J. and Eleanor M. (Hopkins) Stone.  She resided in Cranston for many years.

Barbara loved spending time with her family, enjoyed reading and her special outings with her best friend, Judi.  She will be missed by her family, friends and her beloved dog, Princess.

She is survived by two sons, Michael E. Ethier, Sr. and his wife Cheryl of Cumberland and John A. Romeo and his wife Dawn of Warwick; four grandchildren, Michael Ethier, Jr, Marci Richards, Justena Penta and Stephen Penta; four great grandchildren, Shai-Lea Penta, Georgia Ethier, Noah Ethier and Landon Richards; two siblings, Catherine Monti of West Warwick and Earl Stone of Tampa, FL and several nephews.  She was the sister of the late Jean Nicholson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Committal Prayers at St. Ann Cemetery Chapel, Cranston Street, Cranston on Monday afternoon, August 28, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to the RI SPCA, 186 Amaral Street, Riverside, RI 02915 in her memory would be appreciated.
